I know it's a "division" game, but I am just really not interested much by Columbus. They don't have a terrible team, it's juts very bland, and there's not much history between the 2 teams outside of Umberger.

It's good we are able to talk about Schenn possibly being in tonight. Mason should have all the motivation he needs for a strong game. Be great to be over .500 by Christmas.

Amazing that Schenn is playing tonight. He was lucky. Still no word on a suspension, if any, for Wilson?

Totally honest question: Does Columbus have much of a fan base? On a scale from "Empty seats at Panther games" to "WE NEED ANOTHER TEAM IN ONTARIO STAT!", how much support do the Jackets get?

I went to one game. It was against the Kings in 2010 on a weeknight. Place was maybe 1/2 full. So to answer your question, no idea. Seemed like a small stadium though.

Just looked. Last season, they were dead last in attendance. This year, again, they're dead last. Doesn't say the fans don't like them, but they're not drawing.

My sister went to OSU, so I am familiar with the area. It is entirely a college football town. That being said, the Blue Jackets are the only pro franchise there and would get a decent following if they could put together a competitive team. Have the Blue Jackets ever been in contention for a cup since the beginning of their existence? It's difficult to garner fan support with a team like that.

They had that one season where they made the playoffs, got shut out in the first 2 games, and ended up getting swept by Detroit (although the PPG late in Game 4 was BS).

Edit: They lost 4-1 in Game 1, 4-0 in Game 2. Was also 4-1 in Game 3.

Hearing is at noon eastern. While sometimes there is a phone hearing and no suspension, that is not the case very often. I think he'll get 1-2 games but we will see.

That was their best season ever. One playoff season since 2000 and they got swept. I, honestly, believe it would be one of those great 'small town' fan bases if the team could get better.

Flyers prospect Scott Laughton was named captain of Canada's World Junior team. He has got to be a little studdy to get the honor?

It's all about winning. Any team in any city will lose support if they go through 10+ years of terrible play.

Glad to see Laughton given the C for team canada. Can't wait to watch the jrs and see him play meaningful games. Also hope Leier makes the team but he sounds like he is on the bubble

I'm assuming Stolarz is the #3 goalie for the US?

It will be nice to watch Juniors and be able to say "Hey, look! He's a Flyer prospect!"

Yeah. Granted, I was absolutely gushing over Gostisbehere last year. had no problem getting up at 3AM to watch Team USA.

Also, just realized Laughton is 3rd in the OHL in Pts/GP.

Edit: Anyone know about this Dane Fox guy? Sounds a lot like Akeson.
